CHECK IN WHAT AREAS YOU CAN DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS
Final form of this department will depend on the epidemiological situation and duties will be adjusted to the prevailing conditions. Krakow Photo Fringe takes place parallel to the Photomonth and it is an initiative bringing together exhibitions of independent artists. Volunteers have a chance to learn about creating such an undertaking from scratch, working directly under the supervision of the Fringe team. The tasks will include assistance in the organization of events, support in social media, and above all, photographic documentation and creation of photo coverage during openings taking place throughout Krakow, combined with the distribution of KPF promotional materials.
We know how such collective work can be a huge opportunity for volunteers themselves, but also for us – the organizers. It is thanks to you that we learn and grow every year – each time different and new. None of the previous editions of the festival would have succeeded without the support and commitment of #wolomfk, who are an integral part of Krakow Photomonth and have a direct and real impact on the formula of our event. Volunteers are the ones who create the atmosphere and build not only an artistically engaged community, but also a fully inclusive and friendly safe space of #wolomfk.
For many years we have been continuing our mission of changing volunteering for the better. Our ambition is to deliver it to the highest possible standards of collaboration in which we do succeed, which has been proven by the Volunteer Friendly Organization certificate awarded to the Foundation for Visual Arts in 2015. For us, the certificate is both a reward for our efforts and a guide for our future activity. For more information about the certification go to: dobrywolontariat.pl/idea.

FAQ
What is the timeframe for #wolomfk?
We predict that at the beginning of April we will be able to start working in specific areas so that everything is ready for the opening of exhibitions in May. At the beginning of April, the first group meetings will take place (we take into account the possibility of online meetings), and in mid-May the assembly of the exhibitions will begin. The festival starts on May 27th and for almost five weeks there will be A LOT going on! Volunteering ends with the festival's finale – disassembly of exhibitions and a closing party at the end of June. Please read through the descriptions of individual areas above to check the preliminary scope of tasks and responsibilities along with approximate working time.
Will the volunteering take place despite the epidemiological situation?
We constantly monitor news regarding the epidemiological situation in Poland and act in accordance with governmental recommendations. Given last year's experience, we do not give up organizing volunteering – last year proved that we are able to organize it in a safe manner, in accordance with all governmental guidelines, adhering to the prevailing restrictions and providing volunteers with safe conditions for work, activity and development as part of #wolomfk.
What will the individual recruitment meetings look like?
The form of the last stage of recruitment, i.e. individual recruitment meetings, will depend on the applicable restrictions and the current epidemiological situation. However, we assume that to a large extent they will have to take place online – individual meetings will be conducted in the form of video interviews, while if any of the candidates expresses their will to meet live and the situation allows it, some of the interviews will be held directly in the standard formula in compliance with all sanitary guidelines.
Can I obtain a volunteering certificate and references?
Yes, each volunteer shall receive a volunteering certificate after the festival ends. Volunteers who wish to receive further feedback and who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work may also receive references based on an evaluation of the whole team they have worked with.
Can I volunteer if I’m under 18?
Yes, you can volunteer if you’re over 16 years old but you must provide written consent from your parent or legal guardian.
Can I complete my student internship as part of volunteering?
Yes, you can do your internship as part of volunteering during the festival. The number of internship hours will be taken into account when planning the schedule. If you are planning your internship during the festival, you should indicate this in the application form as well as during the individual interview.
